Rules

  1. The official race course is held in relay format.

  2. The itinerary is divided into 33 legs.

  3. The start will take place at the location designated by the organizer, in the predetermined order and schedule.

  4. The relay strap must be handed over at the designated point in the presence of a race official.

  5. Relay means:
    a) Handing over the strap provided by the organizer to the next runner. The first runner receives it right before the start.
    b) The runner finishing their leg, or another team member, must ensure the organizer has recorded the team number and handoff time correctly.

It is mandatory to report and validate the handoff. If the handoff is not confirmed, no time will be recorded. Late-reported times will not be accepted.

  6. The runner of the last leg must carry the strap to the finish line, where it will be checked. If lost, it must be reported at the nearest handoff point to issue a replacement.

  7. Runners take turns according to an order set in advance by the team captain within the deadline:
    a) No runner may run two consecutive legs.
    b) Each runner must complete at least one leg in 2 different rotations.
    c) Three legs in the second rotation (14, 17, and 19) must be run jointly by two runners of the same team.

  8. If a runner is injured and cannot continue, they are replaced immediately at that point by another team member, respecting Rule 7. The injured runner cannot rejoin.

  9. The team must notify the injury and substitution immediately by SMS to the organizer.

  10. If a runner leaves the course, they must return to the same point to resume.

  11. Each team may use a maximum of three 5-seat family cars (e.g. Seat León ST, VW Golf Variant) or two vehicles up to 7 seats (max. 9 people). Minibuses, buses, and caravans are prohibited. It is recommended each team has two cars for easier logistics.

  12. At large handoff points, only two cars per team are allowed, and only for the time required (max. 20 min before the estimated arrival).

  13. At small handoff points, only one car is allowed, under the same conditions (max. 20 min before, 10 min after).

  14. All team vehicles must be visibly marked with the assigned number throughout the race. Unmarked cars may be removed. Each parking card must display a driver’s contact number.

  15. Each runner receives a bib number and ID bracelet in the starter pack. Both must be worn visibly at all times, including at night.

  16. Any runner competing between 18:00 and 07:00 h must carry the mandatory night gear (reflective vest, headlamp, and rear flashing light).

  17. Each handoff point has an opening and closing time (“active handoff”). The organizer may stop runners for safety or course preparation; this time will be deducted from results.

  18. The event has a maximum duration. After this, handoff points will progressively close and markings will be removed. Teams may continue, but without organizer services.

  19. Each leg must be completed without external assistance or vehicles. Only in the last 100 m of leg 33 may the rest of the team accompany the runner.

  20. Timing ends when the last runner crosses the finish line.

  21. The race is held under normal conditions. Delays due to traffic lights, level crossings, or external factors are not deducted.

  22. Runners must comply with the Spanish Road Traffic Act (RDL 6/2015).

  23. Consumption of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.

  24. The organizer is not responsible for damages caused by runners or suffered by them or third parties.

  25. Participation is under the personal responsibility of each runner. The organizer accepts no liability for physical, material, or property damage.

  26. The organizer may stop the race or modify the route due to unforeseen events or weather for safety.

  27. The organizer may change deadlines or rules, with sufficient notice by email to team captains.

  28. By registering, each runner accepts and commits to these rules.

  29. In case of government restrictions, the organizer may set an alternative date, with entries automatically transferred.

  30. The entry fee is final and non-refundable.

  31. The organizer reserves the right to reject team names or logos that do not comply with the Code of Conduct.

Compliance control and responsibility

Compliance with the rules will be checked throughout the race. Non-compliance will result in penalties according to these regulations.

Remember: you run at your own risk. Take care of your health.

Explanations

  1. The 33 sections of the race are divided into 3 rotations (1st: sections 1–10; 2nd: sections 11–23; 3rd: sections 24–33). Each runner must run at least one leg in 2 different rotations (e.g., a runner of section 10 cannot run section 11).

  2. Large handoff points: points where the wristband is handed over between runners arriving/departing in two different team cars.

  3. Small handoff points: points where the wristband is handed over between runners traveling in the same team car.

  4. Accompanying the runner (by bike, scooter, etc.) is not considered external assistance, but the person must not go ahead as a pacer; they must stay behind the runner.

Reasons for penalty or disqualification

  • Not respecting the pre-established runner order according to the rules → 60 min penalty.

  • Not following the specified course → penalty at the discretion of the organizer.

  • Intentionally cutting the route → disqualification.

  • Not being visibly identified or not using the mandatory safety equipment at the specified times → 60 min.

  • Running without an operational mobile phone → 60 min.

  • Losing the relay wristband → 60 min.

  • Handing over the relay outside the area designated by the organizer → 120 min (only exception: substitution due to injury following Rule 8).

  • Team vehicles not visibly marked → 30 min.

  • Exceeding the allowed number of cars at a handoff point or staying longer than authorized → 30 min.

  • Not following the organizer’s instructions at the time and place of the race → 120 min.

  • Littering outside designated areas → 30 min.

  • Improper parking at handoff points, blocking access roads, or parking in prohibited areas → 30 min.

  • Violating the noise curfew (22:00–06:00) — e.g., honking, loud music, megaphones, bells, whistles, etc. → 180 min.

  • Any other violation of the rules → penalty at the discretion of the organizer.

  • Failure to reach a handoff point within the “active handoff” period or not reaching the finish line → disqualification.

Reporting violations and complaints

Violations may be reported by participants, but they must be demonstrably proven (photo, video, etc.) and reported immediately after detection.

The race organizer is responsible for assessing the seriousness of all complaints and resolving them in accordance with these rules.

In the event of disqualification, the team is not entitled to a refund of the entry fee.
